The Story Behind the Art
Intuitive painting is a process where the canvas guides the artist. That’s why this is exactly how “Secret Garden” came to life. This artwork began as a spontaneous exploration of color and texture, with no preconceived plan. I simply let the brushes dance across the canvas. Soon, a vibrant landscape emerged from this process. The subtle lines and soft gradients took on the form of majestic waterfalls cascading through a lush, verdant forest.
Inspired by this landscape, I chose to add a narrative. Therefore, I included the elegant details of a traditional Asian bridge and a pagoda-style structure. These architectural elements provide a sense of harmony and human presence within the wild beauty of nature.
Elements of the Painting
- Vibrant and Textured Palette: The painting is rich with textures created by layered acrylic paint. The dominant colors of lush greens and vibrant pinks, for instance, evoke a feeling of springtime bloom and abundant life. Meanwhile, the use of light and shadow adds a sense of depth and mystique.
- The Waterfall: A central element of the painting, the waterfalls represent the flow of life. Because they emerged from the initial layers, they guided the direction of the entire piece.
- The Peacock: A magnificent peacock appeared almost by chance. Indeed, in many cultures, the peacock is a powerful symbol of beauty, immortality, and renewal. Its presence adds a touch of regal elegance, as if it is a guardian of this secret garden.
- The Asian Bridge and Pagoda: These architectural features are more than just functional; in fact, they are symbolic. The bridge represents a journey, perhaps from one state of mind to another. Similarly, the pagoda grounds the painting, offering a sense of peace and spiritual harmony.
